A blog award? Well, thanks :)

As previously discussed today I have been a slacker blogger the last couple of weeks, and I really miss it! I have tried my best to stay on top of reading your blog posts and participating in my favorite link-up; but as far as real life posting, and commenting, I've been MIA! I got an e-mail today from one of my favorite bloggers, Amber at Living in the Moment. She told me she had nominated me for a blog award so I thought I'd take a few minutes tonight and say, Thanks Amber, and share a few things with you guys! First off, if you don't already follow Amber, go check her out! She will soon be marrying Brad, which I've known my whole life...long story short...Brad's aunt is my aunt by marriage, so our families celebrate holiday's and birthday's together...so we might as well just be cousins :) She will keep you up to date on any Bachelor/Bachelorette news, in case you missed it! She also has fabulous taste, and shares makeup, style, and home decor ideas! Definitely check her out!

So here's the deal, I'm going to tell you a little bit about myself, and then nominate a few of my favorite bloggers to do the same! I hope you guys will check them out!

I'm Lacey, the Recovering Shopaholic, I use the term recovering loosely. I am about to celebrate my 25th birthday, and I couldn't be happier about where my life is at this very moment. I was born and raised in the South, and wouldn't change a thing about it. I am a sinner, saved by Grace, and I love, love, love my God. I am an only child, and have a family that can't be beat. I am in love with a good lookin' redhead, and can't wait to spend forever with him. I am very fortunate to have a great group of friends. My best girls and I couldn't be any more different, but when you sit us down at a dinner table, none of that matters, I don't know what I'd do without those 2 girls! I have a sweet little Yorkie, Laney. I work at a job I am fortunate enough to love, and have for almost 6 years. I love to do almost anything, from fishing with my sweetheart, to craft nights with my girls...I just feel truly blessed to live this life I live. I hope you'll follow me along my journey...I don't blog about any one particular thing, just life in general, but occasionally it gets exciting!

I want to share a few of my favorite bloggers with you guys...go check them out...

Julianne at Just a Simple Life
She would be one of the 2 best girls I talked about above. She's like me, a random assortment on her blog, but definitely worth checking out! She and I are headed to The Big Apple (All the way from deep South Arkansas) in December, so that will definitely be worth checking out!

I follow Jenn on Twitter, and absolutely adore her blog. She is getting ready to marry her sweetheart very soon, and she blogs about some of the neatest things. Definitely go check her out.

From fitness, to home decor, she blogs about an assortment of things. I think secretly we might be soul sisters, because from what I can tell she might love shoes, purses, and make up just as much as I do :)

I follow Savanah on Twitter and Blogger, and she is always so sweet. When I was a newbie blogger, which I still qualify for...lol...she would always answer my questions, and help me any way she could! She has the cutest blog! You definitely have to check out her recent vacation pictures, and the pics of her sweet fur babies, I'm telling you, I'm not much of a cat girl, but her Lucy will melt your heart.

Now, most of these girls are already well known in the "blog world", so it's likely you already have had the pleasure of checking them out, but if not swing by, I know they'd love to have ya! :)

I hope you're all doing great, I think things have finally slowed down enough I can get back in the swing of things with my blog...and that makes me excited! Have a great rest of the week, I'll talk to y'all very soon!

Long time no see...

Hey blog friends...it's been quite some time since I've actually done a blog post...and I promise we will catch up soon, but I wanted to share this with you guys. I've definitely needed it lately...

Who needs a psychiatrist when you have Google?!

Seriously, the last few weeks I have felt completely overwhelmed with everything! Nothing is really wrong in any aspect of my life, there are just so many things I want to accomplish, and I want them all to happen right now! So what do I do...I Google: How to get your life together...and to my surprise I came across a pretty great article called "7 ways to get your life together" (cheesy, right?) but some of it actually made sense! I thought I would share it with your guys! The original article can be found here!

Life can be overwhelming, especially when there is a lack of structure or balance (sounds familiar). From working long hours to attempting to manage a social life, our health, relationships, and mental well-being may sometimes go under-nourished. While we may not immediately see the destruction, in the long-run this can prove detrimental to all aspects of our health. We begin looking older than we should, feeling fatigued from an overwhelmed mind, and are even in a constant state of PMS outside of our normal ‘time of the month’ (Truth.).
So what’s a woman to do when she’s on a path to creating the life she wants but finds it hard to manage it all? Of course we all have to figure out what works best for us individually, but here are 7 ways to help you begin the process of getting your life together.

De-Clutter Your Mind
If you always feel as if you have twenty things to do and only twenty minutes to do them, it’s time to decrease your load. Attempting to tackle too many things at once, all of which seem equally important can become overwhelming. An overwhelmed mind usually results in procrastination or not performing to the best of your ability. Choose a few days to catch up on all the things that are overdue. Or be proactive and work on tasks before their actual due date. This way you won’t always feel as if you’re playing catch up. This feeling alone is overwhelming.

De-Clutter Your Surroundings
From your home to your workspace, it’s important to rid your surroundings of clutter. Sometimes clutter around us creates clutter in our minds. Attempt to get organized and make it a priority to stay organized. This will require discipline, especially if you’ve become accustomed to clutter.

Take Inventory
Oprah said it best, “You Can Have It All, Just Not All At Once.” Basically, you can’t do everything at once and can’t have all of the things you want, all at the same time. Take inventory of the things you devote your attention to. Decide if those tasks or people are deserving of your attention at the moment.
If you have people in your life that are causing you a lot of drama, then stop associating with them. Some people just suck out all our energy and don’t give anything back. Those may be the people that need to be checked off of your inventory list. Some people and things aren’t deserving of your attention.

Allow Moments For Relaxation
Every day take a few moments to sit and breath. Relaxation is important to a peaceful mind. Figure out what helps you relax and devote time each day to just that. Everyone needs some form of relaxation to revert to daily. Figure out what yours is, and ensure that you indulge in this relaxation daily, if only for a few minutes.

Develop A Routine
Success, progress, productivity, and everything in between is a habit. You are what you do daily. Develop a routine and stick to it. Routines may life a bit easier.

Keep Motivation Nearby
Whether it’s listening to a Beyonce power-mix Adele21 or browsing through a book of affirmations, whatever motivates you, keep it close when you need that extra pick-me up. We all need daily motivation; if you can’t muster it up inside of yourself, make sure you’re equipped with something that brings it out for you.

Learn To Say No
Sometimes we are the cause of our own distress. We take on other people’s projects and problems when we could have set boundaries in the beginning or simply said no. Sometimes intentional, and other times unintentional, people will ask too much out of us. Learn to say no, not now, or never.

A few of these I think will be very helpful in finding balance in my life. I want so many things (Sell a house, Buy a new house, lose 50 pounds,Save several thousand dollars for NYC, Pay off debt), and I want it done in 4 months! I have to get real, and prioritize what's most important right now, and realize I can have it all...in time!
I hope you're all having a great week! I seriously feel like a slacker blogger lately, there are just a million things going on!
